 HISTORY
I have been a photo-bug for about as long as I can remember. I first picked up a camera when I was 10 or 11, an old 35mm (back in the days of film), on a backpacking trip with my brothers and my dad. I remember taking shots of what I thought would be cool (generic stream and tree pics) but the real magic comes when you get the photos back. It was amazing how you can capture an instant in life forever. I have been photographing anything and everything ever since.
Why?
I became a photographer because of my ability to capture something absolute and real. A beautiful, honest embrace of good friends or a happy couple about to start their life together. It’s being able to document that moment so that they will have it forever.
Style
I would say my style is an equal mix of photojournalism and portraiture. I love capturing those spontaneous moments that don't repeat themselves, but there are times when a little 'coaching' is necessary.
Choice
You should choose me if you want someone who is laid back and has a slightly quirky sense of humor. I love to laugh. If you can’t laugh, you can’t relax and be yourself, and that is the key to great photography.

HISTORY
I became interested in photography after my father passed away in 2002. I was to put together a memory board of photos for the visitation, and there were very few recent photos. Over the next few years I started capturing time with family and friends through photographs. Although, I have moved on from one hour photo and disposable cameras, photography to me is still about capturing a moment.
Why?
It wasn’t until a photojournalism class in my last year at Iowa State, that I was interested in pursuing a career in photography. I received my bachelor’s degree at Iowa State in Liberal Studies in 2006 and then went straight to Metropolitan Community College and received my associate degree in Commercial Photography in 2009.
Style
I would say I specialize in the creative side of photography, capturing the detail of your wedding day with unique genuine moments. The creative process comes natural as I frequently show my art which is part installation and part photography in local galleries and juried shows.
Choice
I enjoy capturing a relationship with a photo whether it’s between the bride and groom or laughter and smiles amongst children. I want to make your day flow as smoothly as possible while making you feel comfortable and relaxed.
